Romans 8:32 ( NKJV )
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Yesterday we began discussing God’s opinion of us based on Romans chapter 8.  Our goal is to replace the negative opinions of others with God’s opinion.  He is our creator and He knows us better than anyone else.  Therefore His opinion is more correct than anyone else’s opinion. It is His opinion we should base our own opinion of self upon.

Yesterday we found out God is for you.  He likes you.  He is for your success, your happiness, your victory and you in general.  The second half of the verse, no one can be against you, is powerful.  It is the fact that He is for you that expresses His opinion of you.

Today we will look at the next verse which is quoted above.  I have discovered that many people suffer from a low sense of value.  One way or another they have been convinced they are worthless.  Once again, the problem may have been a parent, a teacher, a boss or just the accumulated experiences of life.  No matter how the opinion is arrived at the result is the same.  You don’t think much of yourself.  You either try very hard to prove you do have value or you just give up and accept this opinion as the truth.  Your expectations will be low.  Even if you do try, you won’t believe good things will really come your way.  You won’t like the way you look, or sound or much of anything about yourself.  Does that sound anything like you?  The affect may be in varying degrees but if you can identify with this I have good news for you.

Look at Romans 8:32.  Do you see what it says?  Do you see what the Father paid to get you?  I am a father and I know that I would rather suffer a thousand times over than let my child suffer.  There is nothing greater in value to me than my children.  God is no different.  He had a son.  His name is Jesus.  He sent Him to suffer and die just so he could get you.  You may say, “Jesus died for the whole world.”  That’s true enough, but if you were the only one who accepted His sacrifice the Father still would have given Him.

How can anyone say that you are not worth anything if God thought you were worth the sacrifice of his own son?  How can you say that?  It is an insult to the price paid for you.  The value of anything is set by the price someone is willing to pay for it.  God was willing to pay a great price for you and that needs to be what determines your value in your own eyes.

We all know of collectibles items that have no value to some people but great value to others.  You may have no value in the eyes some very important people in you life.  Life itself may have taught you that you have no value and that you shouldn’t expect much.  None of those things count when weighed against God’s opinion of you.  He paid the sacrifice of Jesus.  You must really be something to be that valuable.

One last thought.  He points out that if God was willing to pay Jesus for you, He will also give you all things.  What should you expect out of life?  You are a valuable commodity to God.  He will invest in you whatever it takes for you to be blessed and successful in any meaningful way.  You should expect great things everyday of your life.
